Using "Broadwick" in our name is a tribute to the historic events on Broadwick Street Soho, where a pivotal moment in public health unfolded during the 1854 London cholera outbreak.

It was here that the visionary Dr. John Snow performed the earliest known application of geospatial analysis.  Countless lives were saved when he plotted known cholera cases on a map, traced the source of the outbreak to a contaminated public water pump and proved his theory that the deadly disease was waterborne.  His groundbreaking work laid the foundation for the application of geospatial technology in the modern world and forms the bedrock of our platform.
